Heidi (’76) Hiteman and Ron (’76) Malone’s love story began on the very first day of eighth grade, when Heidi’s best friend, Faye Haas Wendel (a fellow LoveBird), introduced them. Throughout high school, Ron was a standout athlete, playing football on the 1975 state championship team and excelling in baseball, while Heidi cheered on the sidelines and played volleyball. Despite attending different colleges—Ron at Miami University to pursue baseball and Heidi at Northern Kentucky University, where she was crowned homecoming queen—their bond only grew stronger.
After 8 years and 8 months of dating, the couple sealed their love in marriage on August 29, 1981, surrounded by 600 family, friends, and classmates from both HHS and college. Together, they raised their family in Carmel, Indiana, before recently returning to their Kentucky roots, where they are enjoying life back home.
