Alex (2005) and Lelia (Shipp) (2007) first met through their youth group and began dating during Alex’s senior year. Their relationship continued when Alex attended Samford University, with Lelia following him there after her graduation. The couple married in 2011 and now have three sons: Austen (9), Hudson (7), and Logan (4). During their time at Highlands, Alex was a soccer player, while Lelia was a part of the theatre program. Today, Alex works for his family business, National Band and Tag Company, while Lelia has taken a break from teaching preschool to focus on raising their children. The family still calls Fort Thomas home and enjoys staying active in the community. The Highlands High School Alumni Association sends their warmest wishes for continued success and happiness to the Wendel family for many years to come!Â
