Dolly (Knauer) Lickert and Mark Lickert, both class of 1975, were always classmates, starting school together at Johnson Elementary. However, they never officially dated until their sophomore year at Highlands in 1973. During their high school years, Mark was a running back on the football team, ran track, and played on the varsity baseball team. Dolly involved herself in various clubs, most importantly the Future Teachers of America club.Â
After graduating from high school, the couple moved on to study at college. Despite going to different colleges, Mark at Thomas More, and Dolly at Northern Kentucky University, the couple stayed together. Post graduation, Mark worked as a purchasing agent and sheet metal worker, while Dolly worked her dream job as an elementary teacher for both Cincinnati Public Schools and Covington Independent Schools. They retired together in 2020, a testament to their hard work and passion.Â
Together, the couple raised 4 children, Alecia, Stephen, Natalie, and Allison, each graduating from HHS. Dolly and Mark now have 11 grandchildren who all live in Fort Thomas and are current or future bluebirds.Â
We wish these LoveBirds endless blessings for years to come!
