Dave Knaebel (‘75) and the late Laura (Smith) Knaebel (‘76) enjoyed their high school years at Highlands together, but went their separate ways post graduation. However, they reconnected later in life and were officially married on November 24, 2000.
In high school, Laura and Dave often spent time together at the Fort Thomas Library. Laura worked there and Dave would hang out with her while she worked.
Post-graduation, Dave attended Miami of Ohio, where he often exchanged letters with Laura, who was a senior at Highlands.
They reconnected in 2000 and were married nearly 20 years.
