Kacie (Walters) Bryant (1996) and Doug Bryant (1990) met at a mutual friend’s wedding, where Doug was a groomsman and Kacie was a bridesmaid. 4 months after their initial meeting, Doug asked Kacie to the Fort Thomas Pub, where they reminisced about their Highlands experiences. Kacie remembers watching Doug finish his senior season in the Highlands State Football Championship. Though she was a 6th grader, she remembers this game, played in 1989, vividly. Kacie spent her time at Highlands as a varsity cheerleader, softball player, and part of the 1995 State Championship Swim Team. After high school, Doug played football and studied at Centre College (1994), while Kacie went to Eastern Kentucky University and graduated with a BA in Broadcasting. Â
Once they reconnected at the very romantic Fort Thomas Pub, they stayed together and have been for 22 years. The couple got married on October 12, 2002, and welcomed their first child shortly after. They currently raise their 3 children, Belle, Torin, and Faith, in the same house Kacie grew up in. All 3 children excel in everything they do. Belle and Torin now attend the University of Kentucky, and Faith is in 6th grade at Highlands Middle School. Doug and Kacie are avid community members of Fort Thomas and supporters of all things Highlands. We wish the Bryants constant success and happiness for years to come!
